Our second Bay City Western Where Are They Now Athlete is Class of 2017 Graduate Noah Schoenherr!
He described his time at Western as great, “I was involved in many sports and had the support of many teachers and staff members.” Noah was a four year Varsity Letter winner for the Warriors. When asked what his biggest memory of wrestling was and he said, “….when I won the Division 1 130-pound wrestling state championship my Junior year, it was the highlight of my life and is something I will never forget.” His sophomore year he pointed to another great memory when he won in the semifinals to reach his first state championship appearance. “I remember looking up into the crowd and seeing the whole Western wrestling fan section on their feet clapping and cheering. That was a great feeling.”
Since graduation Noah has attended Ferris State University where he is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Construction Management. He is also a member of the Michigan National Guard. When asked what the biggest influence in his career was he did not hesitate, “…my friends and family.” He added, “Whenever I was facing hard times in my wrestling career I always knew I could turn to my friends or family for support, advice, or help.” When asked what advice he would give a student athlete he responded with, “… you only get to go through high school once; do what you can when you can. Get outside and get in trouble, go have some fun, make your parents both happy and mad.” Noah has great things to say about his Alma Mater, “What Bay City Western has given me is the chance to pursue greatness, through both academics and athletics. They gave me the chance to conquer both my academic and athletic goals.”
Noah finished his career with 195 Victories, and was a 3 Time Saginaw Valley League, District, and Regional Champion. He was also All Academic for the Saginaw Valley League and the State during his career. Thank you Noah for your contribution to the program. We wish you the best of luck!
