The Bay City Rowing Club is pleased to introduce the Draken Rowing Camp, a rowing program specifically serving Mid-Michigan youth enrolled in or entering high school.
This coached introduction to rowing will prepare athletes for competition against other Michigan youth and teach them what it would take to earn a rowing scholarship.  The program will begin July 3rd and will run weekly at a cost of $150 per week.  Practices will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 9am-12:30 (break during the week of July 4th) at our boathouse on 350 West Lafayette Ave, Bay City.
No particular athletic background is required, although students must be able to pass a swim test.  Rowing is a low-impact sport which requires cardiovascular endurance, excellent body control, and teamwork.  As such, it is also excellent cross-training for any athletic endeavor.
Interested students and parents are invited to attend a presentation on the program at the Bay Area Family YMCA on May 16th, 7pm. Additional information about the Bay City Rowing Club is available at www.baycityrowing.org.  If you prefer, you can also call 989-439-0769 to speak to a club representative.
